Nnewi South Primary Healthcare Centres Revamp Programme

Version 0.1 · Published 2026-08-07 · Target year 2027

Objective

To bring every primary healthcare centre in Nnewi South I up to the statewide minimum standard, and to use that record to make the case for statewide rollout.

Description

Implements the Primary Healthcare Revitalisation Bill locally: Nnewi South I's primary healthcare centres are assessed, costed and revamped as the first cohort under the statewide standard, before the programme scales to the rest of Anambra State. The approach draws on the emphasis on healthcare and education investment associated with Peter Obi's tenure as Governor of Anambra State and his subsequent national platform.

Implementation Phases

  1. 1. 2027 · Condition Assessment

Every primary healthcare centre in Nnewi South I is assessed against the statewide minimum standard, and a costed Revamp Plan is published for each.

  2. 2. 2028 · First Cohort Revamp

Nnewi South I's primary healthcare centres are revamped: staffing, essential medicines, equipment, power and facility condition brought up to standard.

  3. 3. 2029 · Statewide Case Study

Results are published and used to advocate for statewide sequencing under the Primary Healthcare Revitalisation Fund.

Institutional Role

Coordinated by the Office of the Member representing Nnewi South I with the relevant Anambra State ministry of health and local government health authorities.
